The Nikonos III. Arguably my favorite out of the Nikonos line. After getting one from Brandon to test for him, I really fell in love with the camera. After using all of the Nikonos, I-V, I have found that the bulky body of the Nikonos III to actually be really helpful. When charging 6-7ft surf and trying to navagte the impact zone, you find that a camera that can sink and move as you do in the water is essential (The grippy full metal body is also a nice touch). The only thing that is not key in the this camera, but I am willing to sacrafice, is a light meter. Although a free download of an app of your phone will do the trick, It would still be nice to have one for exta assurance of a correct exposure. Although you can also use the Sunny 16 rule and equivalent exposure to easily adjust your exposure based on the situations presented to you. Antoher thing that is also great about the Nikonos III is that in the viewfinder it has both 35mm lense brackets and 80mm lense brackets so you wouldnt have to put that builky plastic scope on top of your camera. Last but not least, below I have some photographs I have taken with the Nikonos III. Enjoy.
The photograph above is actual one that is super classic for my friend Reese and I. If you look closely you can see that the fin it attached by a shoe lace because we couldnt find the screw. Always be inoventive and creative
